Support needs of related professionals regarding AAC service delivery system

Abstract
Objectives: The purpose of the study was to investigate the practice and support needs of related professionals regarding augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) service delivery system in Korea.

Method: Thirteen professionals participated in a focus group discussion on the AAC service delivery system in Korea. The focus group was conducted on the Internet over a 6-week period.

Results: Four major themes emerged from the discussion: (a) experience of AAC intervention; (b) access barriers to AAC service; (c) user-centered AAC service delivery system; and (d) recommendations to improve AAC accessibilities.
